The Blue Rooster on Paw Paw Lake

Windy Mitten’s house was adorable and worked perfectly for our family. The accommodations were accurate per the listing and very clean and comfortable! Great responsive hosts!

The Blue Rooster property was perfect! We had everything we needed, and more. It was very clean and cozy, in a perfect location, and the views are incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed the lakeside rec area and it was very convenient being so close to our boat at the dock. The hosts were lovely and we would most definitely stay here again!

My family enjoyed this property so much. It was lovely with so much history. The view from the sunroom is to die for. The outdoor space was lovely, with so much to do! The location was perfect, dollar store right down the road, along with plenty of food& the cutest coffee shop nearby. The hosts were so kind & communicated so well with us. 10/10 would stay again. Memories for a lifetime !

Blue Rooster house was perfect! House was very clean, had everything we needed and could have wanted, and the location is perfect.
Our entire family loved every day and we have many memories from our stay. Having a boat dock right in front of the house was so convenient and having kayaks available to us to enjoy was a treat.
We will return for sure.

We had a great stay at the Blue Rooster!! The check in process was seamless and the house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a house on Paw Paw Lake! We will definitely be back.

This space is absolutely adorable and the hosts are nice and responsive. Access to the lake is super easy and we highly recommend you take advantage of the use of the kayaks! Pro tip, if you plan on doing a lot of cook, you might want to bring your own knife and cutting board. The space had plenty of other utensils aside from a decent knife, cutting board and large pot. Otherwise fantastic place and we definitely plan to stay there again.

Very nice house, very clean & comfortable. We just spend a very relaxing long weekend and enjoyed the sunsets on the lake. I’m glad the house faces the west.
We enjoyed the paddle boat & my husband was able to dock his fishing boat at the pier. Although there was a lot of recreational boats on the lake on the weekend, they did manage to fish early.
Very attentive to our needs and questions. I would recommend a visit but there are a lot of stairs going down to the lake. Over all we had a great stay.

Wow! We had such an amazing time staying here. The place was pristine and the hosts were so lovely. Such an easy trip from Chicago. We’ll definitely be back again!

Our family of 5 had a lovely time. The location is perfect and allows for day trips to bigger beaches. The hosts are very attentive. The house was pristine. There were old school (1960s) board games that my kids had fun playing.

Our Family just stayed 4 days 3 nights at the Blue Rooster. We all had a wonderful stay. It was my husband and myself, 3 kids age 13,10 and 9 and my parents. Everything was so clean. The kids enjoyed walking right down the road to the public beach. The owner Frank was so great to deal with. We brought our own boat and with all the packing forgot our youngest life vest. Frank came to the rescue and had one the size we needed. The scream room has amazing views of the sunset and lake. So many memories made. Looking forward to this Family trip next year.

We had a great stay! The location can’t be beat - the house has a fenced in lakeside area, fully equipped with chairs, fire pit and kayaks. There are a fair amount of stairs to walk down to access the lake, so keep that in mind. But absolutely perfect for fun lake days and quiet summer nights.

The owners are around frequently (as they live next door) so we had no trouble getting assistance with anything we needed. They were also able to recommend some restaurants and breweries in the area.

Would definitely consider staying here again!

This place was amazing. Great location less than 2 hrs from Chicago with its own waterfront and stunning views. The inside is charming with an old summer cabin feel. The bedding was newer and we had plenty of towels.

We lucked out on the fall weather so we spent as much time outside as we did inside: dining and playing board games on the garden table overlooking the lake from the bluff. At sunset, we walked down the steps to the water to watch the sun drop over the lake then sat by a warm fire in our own fire pit. One day we even took the kayaks out for a spin.

Inside, we cooked up a storm and played board games. We didn't bother with TV though there is one. The 3 season porch was great to view the lake from or take a nice nap. The main room is warm and woody and was awesome to sit and read in.

We had a fantastic time and would love to return.

Had a great stay with my fiancé! Beautiful spot on the lake. Clean, easy to get to and great view. Host also provides helpful info about things to do/places to go around Paw Paw Lake! Can certainly sleep 7 but will be tight with only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.

Nice place right on the water! Host was great at communication and the house is centrally located. Perfect for a getaway with friends this weekend!

Beautiful, quiet location. House was comfortable with character. Sun room is lovely for catching the sun rise and yard is great addition for kids. The owner lives next door and was extreme helpful (and friendly) on numerous occasions. There’s a BBQ and outdoor dining area in the yard as well as a fire pit and outdoor dining by the lake. We also loved the fact that the plot on the lake gets a lot of shade during the day, making it easier to enjoy with small kids.

Nice location and great response time, very helpful!!!! Had a great time, be prepared to walk a lot of steps to and from house from the lake.. house does need new towels and bed sheets! Other than that nice little getaway!

This place has a beautiful view of the lake and it is very peaceful. The host was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely want to stay here on our next visit to PPL.

The house is super cute, the lake is great, there is only one bathroom but you’ll survive. Owners live next door, very quick to respond, friendly and helpful. Very close to south haven, nice fenced in area by the lake, great porch, bedrooms are upstairs in case anyone has issues climbing stairs, quiet peaceful location.
